This oil painting depicts a blue jay perched on a bare branch, isolated against a softly layered background.

The bird is rendered with attention to structure and color, allowing the blues and whites of the plumage to stand out against the warmer tones behind it. The surrounding space is simplified and loosely suggested, keeping the focus on form, contrast, and light rather than a specific setting.

The composition holds the bird in a moment of stillness. There is no implied action, only presence. The balance between detail and restraint allows the viewer to observe without being directed toward a particular meaning.

This painting was created during my studio studies and formal training, as I continue developing my voice in oil through focused school work. While finished, signed, and one of one, it is intentionally priced as a studio work rather than gallery priced painting.
