Midnight Blooms

Midnight Blooms features a black panther surrounded by bright flowers and deep, layered color. I loved the contrast between the strength and quiet presence of the panther and the softer colors and shapes around her.

This original is painted on 23 x 30 inch watercolor paper using spray paint, acrylics, and oils. Each medium added something different, from the softer atmosphere in the background to the richer details and color in the finished piece.

This was my first time painting a big cat, which made it a fun challenge and one I really enjoyed taking on.
