Original Mixed Media Collage on Deckled-Edge Watercolor Paper

Bright-Eyed began with a nearly monochromatic reference and became an experiment in color, texture, and layering.

Karisa built the piece with collage materials and paint, then continued adding layers until much of the original collage became part of the texture underneath the painting. Small pieces still show through in the background, surrounded by rich teal, rust, gold, purple, and earthy tones.

The ostrich remains the clear focus, with its curious expression and loose, colorful feathers giving the piece a lot of personality.

This is an original, one-of-a-kind artwork created on deckled-edge watercolor paper.
